I'm a big fan of Robert Krulwich - a great storyteller. On NPR he has a show called Radiolab. This week's story is about the history of football. However, in Krulwich tradition, the story has a very unique angle. I always listen to podcasts on my phone, but since I cannot link to your phone, here's the site. Here's a wonderful presentation by Robert Krulwich. I watch a lot of online video. This is a fascinating one. Take about 4-minutes to watch it. I recommend watching it with the kids. Watch it with a piece of paper. You'll probably want to start folding it - the paper. not the kids. Meet Alastair Humphreys. I believe he has done something we've all dreamed about. However, there's one difference: He did it!
This is installment #2 that demonstrates the demise of cable TV. Recently, YouTube has "upped its game" in regard to music. There's a tremendous amount of live concerts housed on YouTube. It also has some creative ways of presenting new music to you. Enjoy Warren Haynes and Grace Potter's version of Gold Dust Woman. It's outstanding. Further down the page, I have my favorite artist listed. The website it links to provides over 15-hours of live music. Again, just one small example. In Buried Treasures of the Web, I have some tools that will make these YouTube videos even more enjoyable. Postscript: In 2006, Google purchased YouTube for $1.6-billion. Back then, I thought that was a bargain. Based on recent Internet buyouts, it certainly was.
Over the years, I've watched a tremendous amount of amazing presentations and interviews. This ranks at the top. Martine Rothblatt is interesting and brilliant. Take twenty minutes to watch her story. You will be amazed. For more Internet gems, check out Buried Treasures of the Web. |
